"Security, the world over including educational institutions like ours is all about collaboration and putting all hands on deck. While the University security operatives will continue to do the needful, the members of the University community are also expected to kindly volunteer by providing timely and useful information that could assist in enhancing security on campus. ".
The University Security Division is the organ charged with the responsibility of providing a secured environment for the conduct of teaching and learning and securing the University assets both within and outside the Campus. In discharging this responsibility the Division liaises with other statutory security and law enforcement agencies such as the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,Federal Fire Service, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, among others.

Divisions

The Security Division broadly speaking has the following Units for effective operations:

New Campus Unit

The Division is primarily involved in conducting operations that would contribute to secured environment such as guard duty,patrol and beat duties, boundary/border patrol, provision of security during conferences and other functions and others.
Old Campus Unit

Intelligence gathering is another aspect of the Division which deals with acquisition of information of security nature that could assist in forestalling any activity that could threaten peace and security on campus. Other information that have wider implications are shared with relevant agencies.
Outpost Unit

responsible for coordinating and overseeing operations of Outsourced security operatives deployed to other arms of the University such as Mumbayya House, School for Continuing Education, AKTH among other locations.
